Digital World 2012 Summit Starts Today

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based international summit Digital World 2012 begins from today. This three day long convention will take place at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) from 6 to 8 December. Begum Matia Chowdhury, Minister of Agriculture of the People's Republic of Bangladesh will inaugurate the summit with the slogan "Knowledge to Prosperity".

Digital entrepreneurs, ICT personalities and experts, different ICT organizations and many more related individuals and institutions from home and abroad will participate in this summit. The event includes opening ceremony, speech sessions of the experts and guests, freelancers conference, B2B matchmaking meeting, stall and exhibition of digital entrepreneurs, seminar and workshop, meet the leaders and visionaries, conference exhibition, gala night and closing ceremony.

Digital World 2012 is a successful part of the Digital Bangladesh initiative of the present government where their success stories and achievements will be showcased and an inspiration will be created for the individuals and organizations in the related fields. The Digital World 2012 builds upon the concept of e-Asia 2011, focusing on using and leveraging ICT and modern technology to boost up the economy. The summit will persuade government's political goals as a pro-poor tool to eradicate poverty, establish good governance and ensure social equity through quality education, healthcare and law enforcement for all, and prepare the country for climate change.

"Digital Bangladesh" is a blended initiative of ICT and modern technology. As part of this goal, Bangladesh has seen dramatic and positive changes in different sectors in last few years. ICT is declared as the "Thrust Sector" of the country to materialize the concept of "Digital Bangladesh" by the government. Accordingly, the government is ensuring widespread use of ICT tools & mechanisms to further modify the livelihood of the citizens, scope of services, agriculture, healthcare, standard of living and so on. Digital World 2012 is just one of the glorious examples of these success stories that will open more doors of possibilities in the future.
