Oracle to Hire 1,000 New Regional Sales Staff

April 9th 2015 - Thursday

Customer service IT giant Oracle says it will hire 1,000 new sales staff across the Asia-Pacific region in a bid to create more business for its cloud computing operations.

Its group vice-president for strategy and sales development in APAC, Sujith Abraham, said Oracle has drawn up an aggressive hiring target in Asia because the firm’s cloud business was “increasing faster in this part of the world” on the back of the region’s strong economic growth and extensive mobile and broadband networks.

Under its recruitment campaign, Oracle plans to add 292 cloud sales professionals in India, 260 in China, 129 in Australia and New Zealand, 82 in South Korea and 171 in Southeast Asia, including 49 in Singapore.

Oracle, which is headquartered in California, operates in all three segments of the global cloud market: software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service.
