Singapore’s Samsung Tech Hub Offers Training

December 24th 2014 - Wednesday

Singapore has opened the island’s new ITE-Samsung Tech Hub. It aims to prepare Institute of Technical Education (ITE) students in relevant courses for careers in the customer service industry among others.

The Tech Hub, located at ITE College East, consists of a Display Solutions Centre that showcases various emerging display technologies, and a Mobile Service Centre that trains students in mobile device technical support and customer service by simulating Samsung’s customer service environment. The hub aims to improve the employability of ITE students, and is part of the ITE-Samsung Industry Project Program, which also includes industrial attachment opportunities and scholarships.

Harry Lee, president of Samsung Electronics Singapore, said the partnership with ITE will support youth education and job training through the use of Samsung’s technology, services and expertise.

“With the ITE-Samsung Tech Hub, students have the resources and a learning space to develop technical skills needed to join the workforce,” he said.
